What is New Horizon Records ?
Answer : «New Horizon Records is a label from Quebec City, Canada. Even before NHR was officially formed, their members were already trying to promote and develop talents from their area. For the last six years, NHR has always kept a DIY philosophy toward the whole music industry, the label has now many projects in motion in order to help their bands progress.»

We are sorry to announce you that the guys from Wasted Sunday have decided to call it quit, as they rather focus on personal projects. However, don’t miss your chance to see them live for the last time in Quebec city on February 2th, 2008 at l’ANTI. Be there or be square!

News - October 24th, 2007 :

The Acousticolics from Quebec City is now a member of the New Horizon Records family

The Acoustilcolics' album, "Tuning in", should be available in early December 2007. More information to come!

However, our distributor in Canada has decided to stop distributing CDs, which is kind of odd for a distributor. It is obvious that this situation bothers our activities, especially since we've learned this recently. Nonetheless, we're not giving up! We will try to rebuild our distribution for our upcoming projects.

News - July 20th, 2007 :

Hello dear friends, We have some good and bad news for you today. Let’s start with the good ones. The marvelous cd of Serenity in Silence “trends and friends” will be available through distribution beginning in September 2007. This means that it will be easier for you to purchase it from any record store; however, we strongly invite you to support indie record stores.

Now’s the time for the bad news. Another member of the New Horizon family decided to put an end to their band: Ghost Track from Switzerland. On the good side, these guys will not stop playing music. Florian and Michel have a new project called Helmut, and the latter will also join Cardiac. As for “Full Doux”, he will play in The Deafs and will partake in a new project with Nico. Sincerely, we wish them all good luck.

Second of all, the new ep of Wasted Sunday, planned for this autumn, will unfortunately be postponed to a later date because two members decided to quit the band. Bass is starting a new career in administration and will surely succeed in it. As for Jo, he decided to focus on his studies and other personal projects. Once again, we wish them only good things in their future. Nonetheless, we truly hope Wasted Sunday will rapidly fill the void in order to release their incredible new material and get back on tour.

News - March 31th, 2007 :

Spring time is here and we have great news for you guys!!! A new band has joined the New Horizon Records family. It is Serenity in Silence, a metal-hardcore orchestra from Quebec city. We are really happy to have the chance to work with them. They have a lot of talent, good attitude and a wonderful work ethic. We’ll release their new album on April 20th at Exo shop. An official release date will soon follow. You can also buy this CD when they will play in a town near you.

Finally, Wasted Sunday is working these days in preparation of their next album, which should be out next fall. All we can do for the moment is cross our fingers so that there won’t be any delay. If you’ve heard their song “Courage to Refuse”, you surely don’t want to wait any longer.

News - February 16th, 2007 :

Reorganization part 1 : Like we told you a couple of weeks ago, we decided to do some major changes in 2007. The first step was to end our relationship with Still My Queen. Even thought we do not have any problems with the individuals of the group, we definitely don’t share the same ideas about the music industry in general. The point here is not to say who is right or wrong. This is why we wish them good luck in their quest to find a label that will fulfill better their dreams.

Our goals and means may be modest, but we work hard to support the local and independent scene. We think that a Do It Yourself approach is more durable and honest. We’ll never give up our ideals in order to become the next big thing or the flavor of the month.

News - January 30th, 2007 :

Here's some bad news about Raiden : members of the band has decided to put an end to group. We wish them good luck for their future project. We were pleased to work things out with Raiden. Their split cd with One Day Late is still available.

On the other hand, we want to thank everybody involved in the Swiss Invasion Tour 2007. Even thought Wasted Sunday and Ghost track drove thousands of kilometers in shitty conditions and slept on floors, the tour was a big success (even Wasted Sunday’s bassist Jo fell in love during that tour). Keep on your good work guys...

We really hope you’ll enjoy this project. This cd represents very well the diversity of style and music we want to promote. We’ll never follow one single pattern in order to sell more. We choose bands that love music and want to work hard with us. We don’t care if they fit or not in nowadays trends. 2006 was by far one of the best years for New Horizon records. This is exactly why we’re really positive about 2007. However, in order to keep our integrity and to respect the values we stand for, we’ll do some reorganization in the next few months. So, don’t be surprise, there will be some changes.
